About the Blacktip Reef Shark

The blacktip reef shark is easy to recognise by the black tips on its fins. It grows to about 1.6 m and prefers shallow, warm reefs, where it hunts small fish. It is usually shy and harmless to people. Like many sharks, its numbers are falling because of overfishing.
