About the Peacock
The Indian peafowl is famous for the male's long train of shimmering feathers decorated with "eye" spots, which he fans out to impress females. Only males (peacocks) have the train; females (peahens) are brown and grey. Peafowl can fly short distances and roost in tall trees at night.
